Mei started his career as a professional photographer in 2008, he explored between commerce service and art, persisted in working with a low-key and calm attitude in his own direction. He was invited to work for CHINA DAILY, TimeOut Beijing, Esquire China, etc. He was recognized and praised by the designer Franck Gehry for his unique way of thinking and working.
Mei began his fine art career in 2010, at the beginning, his works were concept photography. He got rid of restriction, made videos, installations, and comprehensive materials. He launched his project “Peach Blossom Land” in 2016. He had prepared for this concept art project for two years, at last, through the online crowdfunding platform, it received 100,000 people’s attention and more than 1,000 people’s support. He was invited to hold a touring exhibition of “Peach Blossom Land” in 2017, including Kunsthalle Darmstadt, Germany; NON Berlin; Warsaw Art Foundation, Poland; etc. This project will continue.
